CCHS 3 - 0 Rogue River
Medford, OR — A highly controlled game where the Challengers ladies dominated possession and had chance after chance to score. We walk away from the game thankful for the win and proud of the efforts to score and keep a clean sheet. Overall it wasn't our best game, but we showed some great moments.

Last Game 0-0 Tie at Home to Brookings
Medford, OR — In a very heated last game of the season, the Challenger ladies left everything they had out on the field. From the start we played controlled and aggressive soccer, winning our duels, and creating opportunities to score. Brookings has some good talent but our backline defenders played their best game of the season, shutting them out completely. Mae Ferreira along with Amelia Vanlandingham played center back and on numerous occasions sprinted, battled, and won clearance after clearance. Alongside them Ryann Deboer and Brynn Coppedge played their best games all season, keeping the Bruins' wingers from making their usual breakaways down the line.

Merrill, OR — A hard loss for the team, the Challenger ladies struggled to control the game and pass through the lanes. Lost River was able to find two moments of breakaways that were successfully blocked by defenders and our goalkeeper, but ultimately they were put into the back of the net as the ball couldn't get cleared or possessed by the Challengers.

CCHS 0 - 5 St. Mary's
Portland, OR — On a rare hot Saturday afternoon in October, our lady Challengers faced their rivals in what we knew would be a tough match. Within the beginning two minutes, the skill of St. Mary's central midfield was on display as they passed and dribbled through the lines to score. They came ready to play and capitalized in the first half on our defensive errors and poor clearances.

@Sutherlin 6 - 0 CCHS
Sutherlin, OR — Another battle for CCHS as the ladies fell to a strong, large, and athletic Sutherlin team. Sutherlin’s ability to defensively push our midfielders and forwards off the ball and blast it over the top to their incredibly fast forwards, was a challenge. Defensively and in the goal with Josie Scaglione, the Challenger ladies cleared ball after ball and prevented several goals.

CCHS 0 - 4 North Valley
Medford, OR — Coming into this week the Challenger ladies knew they'd need to communicate more, have faster touches and passes, and be more aggressive. In the first 25 minutes everyone could tell that we were ready mentally and physically. Both teams battled, having great defensive efforts as well as shots on goal. The trio of Aubrey Hess, Jordynn Jones, and Emma Coats found great purchase up the side, creating multiple shots on goal. Josie Scaglione had a good day against a tough side; in the first half cutting off 3 crosses and saving 3 shots, but 2 goals were able to get by in the 29th and 32nd minute.

Medford, OR — Before we even started warmups our team discussed the importance of what we focus on, what we put our attention on. Philippians 4 reminds us about the peace we experience when our thoughts are on love, thankfulness, what's right and pure. From the first whistle the Challenger ladies were committed to a sound mind that included these things and the mental and physical alertness our coaches have taught them.

@Brookings 3 - 1 CCHS
Brookings, OR — The Challengers walk away with another L, but their heads are held higher than ever. Each of these girls showed growth and battled more than we’ve seen, which is all we could ask for. The marking in defense was superb all game, but on a windy day in Brookings, a cross into the box was hard to clear. After a miss-kick clearance Brookings took an early lead. Twenty minutes later our strong center midfield linked up to quickly move it forward for a through ball to Emma Coats who outpaced the defense and put it past a diving keeper.

@Lakeview 4 - 2 CCHS
Lakeview, OR — Although the Challenger ladies started a bit sluggish, conceding a goal from a wonderfully taken shot well above the penalty box that sailed into the corner, Cascade did not give up. Jordynn Jones, Aubrey Hess, and Mae Ferreira showed great determination in the midfield area, where much of the battle took place. At times the centerfield was so clustered you'd think Lakeview had extra players on the field, yet somehow the girls controlled the game, found open feet and created opportunities. A ball from our midfielders was played out wide near the 12 minute mark that landed at Sienna Wilcox's feet whose effort was narrowly deflected by a full outstretched diving goalkeeper to win Cascade a corner. Merely 5 minutes later Emma Coats had a breakaway that was broken down by a rushing GK who slid in to take the ball from under her feet. Cascade looked threatening in the first half and solid defensively. A header clearance, with three Honkers around her, from our back post in the 20 minute mark by Amelia Vanlandingham, sent CCHS on a counter attack up the wing with Emma Coats breaking up line. Unfortunately we couldn't convert, in the first half and the Honkers scored two more times from incredible shots that both hit the post and banked into the net.

St. Mary's 6 - 0 Challengers
Medford, OR — From the start, the Challenger ladies worked hard to move the ball around and possess it to control the game. St. Mary's was strong in the midfield and battled to create quick opportunities that our defense struggled to mark as they finished a bumbled shot in the box and open shot at the top of the box that went precisely into the bottom corner past a diving Josie Scaglione. The girls showed great resilience, not giving up and creating chance after chance as they pushed against the strong sided Crusaders. Even after a disallowed goal for an arguable offsides call by Sienna Wilcox, the girls shook it off and played hard, withstanding 100+ degree on field heat. Midfielder, Aubrey Hess put in a full workload logging 3.1 Miles traveled for the game, while Mae Ferreira in defense was clocked in at running the top speed for the team of 10.4 miles per hour to close down the attackers.

Rogue River, OR — Playing on grass is always an adjustment of pace and pressure. Playing on a smaller field is a whole other challenge. The challenge for our Challenger ladies was to control the game and maintain possession to create chances on goal, which is tough to do in these conditions. CCHS (Home) against Lost River - 9/9
Medford, OR — Nearly 20 minutes into the match, the Challenger ladies controlled the game and were able to finally get it past the keeper. After several attempts, deflections and crosses, Sienna Wilcox was able to clean up as she crashed the goal putting Cascade up 1. Ten minutes later, the Challengers continued to posses the ball and create opportunities as Aubrey Hess found herself with a wide open shot at the top of the box, hitting it square into the top corner. 2-0 at half-time can be a tough benefit which played out in the typical manner. Lost River had nothing to lose as they committed players forward and found the back of the net twice from overcrowding the box and poking it through. Tied 2-2 with 20 minutes left in the game Aubrey Hess was teed up again at midfield where she blasted another shot past the keeper. Lost River wouldn’t give up however as they managed another goal from a breakaway, effectively tying the game. Stand out performances from Aubrey Hess and Mae Ferreira in defense.
