The Girls finish third in an expanded LMSC Race
Thompsonville, MI — “We saw some great skiing last night from our girls. Of course, Chiara came out and led the way for our team, winning both events at the meet, but we are really excited about how several of our skiers really turned up the intensity of their racing. Ada Decker is a great example of this, she got some new gs skis at the beginning of the season and we saw her really figure out how to generate speed with them tonight. Her first run was great but her second run was over one second faster, which most skiers were slower on. This is the time of season where everything starts to click for our racers and we are excited for Regionals on Feb 10th.” Coach Petrosky.

The Lady Scots Finish Strong at the Caledonia Invite at Crystal Mountain
Thompsonville, MI — "Today's race was a great way to finish the season. We raced against a bunch of teams that we have a lot of connections too. We used to train and share time at Bittersweet with Plainwell TK, our middle school skiers have raced against Grand Rapids Christian and Grand Rapids Catholic Central/West Catholic for years, we have participated in the Clare Invitational since it began and we are in a conference with Benzie, Glen Lake and Onekama along with racing against them for years at Invitationals. Our skiers know many of their athletes and it is a great group of coaches to work with to pull off a race".

Thompsonville, MI — "If you had told me that this winter was going to be as challenging as it has been last year I would not have believed you but we have overcome it and we able to complete 5 conference races and two Invitationals before Regionals. Our girls are incredible athletes who have pushed themselves despite the obstacles put in their way. Wednesday's races were no exception. The morning races had softening snow as the morning progressed and the afternoon was raced on chemically hardened snow, which didn't hold up as well as the coaches had hoped." Coach Petrosky" Our girls put down a bunch of great runs and we were able to hold on to third place in the conference."

Thompsonville, MI — " Our girls team really skied well today, even though we placed fifth there was a lot to be happy about. Our skiers came out today and skied confidently under some fairly tough conditions. Earlier in the season we raced on Buck and it intimidated some of our skiers but today they all were ready for what ever the hill threw at them." Coach Petrosky "Mya and Kyleigh both really skied well today and really all season. Girls Ski Team 10th at Regionals
Belmont, MI — "At the beginning of the season, our goal was to see improvement in each of our skiers and we did! I know 10th place is not something we have seen in a while but we haven't had a team this young either. My Juniors led the way all season and at regionals their leadership came through. Mya Baldwin and Kyleigh Thompson have proven themselves on the slopes and off the slopes. Even when they have a tough run, they are there cheering on their team mates and are ready for their next event. Mya had a great first slalom run and then on her second run clipped a gate with her ski causing it to come off. Even though this was not the result she had hoped for, Mya cleared her head and finished the race leading our team in GS. Both Baldwin and Thompson have been the foundation of our rebuild and I could not be prouder of these two outstanding young ladies!"

Girls Team is Showing Growth Clare Invitational
Mancelona, MI — "Sometimes improvement doesn't show up in the final score and today was one of those days. My girls confidence went up and their skiing showed signs of growth---all of girls finished all of their runs on one of the steepest slopes in Michigan which is a feat that doesn't always happen at this race." Coach Petrosky "The first step in improving as a team is believing in yourself and these girls are doing just that. I heard them all say that they were ready for the 550 feet of vertical on the FACE and after their runs they said that it was fun, which is going to help when we head back to the 250 ft vertical of Timber Ridge on Monday for our next conference race. When I took over the program 8 years ago, the first thing that we did was add as much big hill up north racing to our schedule as possible, so our skiers would gain skiing experiences that can only be had on steep complicated slopes."

Girls Team Ends Up 2nd Place in SWMSC
Gobles, MI — "These girls never stop amazing me! At the beginning of the season, when I looked at this team I knew that they had a ton of potential but I also knew our conference had some very fast skiers and some teams that were deep and could really make a run at the championship. My girls stepped up and skied well enough to end up in 2nd place and they should be proud of their efforts. My seniors, Barbie DeGood and Evie Schlett, really did a great job skiing this year but what I am most proud of is how they brought up everyone around them. These two girls helped everyone on their team grow as skiers, I saw them working with our exchange students and younger skiers to help them grow & learn from their experiences." Coach Petrosky "Throughout the season we saw Mya and Kyleigh improve in their skill and confidence and I saw my seniors there leading them every step of the way. This last race was a very bittersweet moment for me since it was the end of an era, which is always sad but I have seen the passing of the torch of leadership this season and am excited to see how our new leaders will push their team forward."
